An astronaut, alone in space, tries to save Earth.

Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home, with no memory of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to discover his mission: to solve the mystery of the mysterious substance that causes the sun to go out.

He must use his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save the Earth from extinction... But thanks to an unexpected friendship, he may not be alone in this.
